Gabriel Antonio Olivares died on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at a local hospital.

Gabriel “Gabe” Antonio Olivares was born on August 30, 1980 to David Olivares and Aurelia Lopez Olivares in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 1998, he  graduated from Temple High School and played for the Temple Wildcats. Gabriel was noted for being the most selfless man you’ll ever meet. He lived for his family, especially his girls. He worked in tech support for McLane’s. Gabe enjoyed dancing, date nights, fire-pit nights with friends, cooking, grilling, and even baking.  He loved everything Marvel and found a lot of references to Christianity and scripture in Marvel movies. Gabe was a man of God and shared his faith anywhere he could, including the gym.  He enjoyed going to the gym for jiu jitsu, collecting comics, and talking trucks. He met the love of his life, Cassi Sanchez Castilleja two years ago, dancing at Bo’s Barn and then met for church the next morning.

They married in January of 2020.

Gabriel is survived by his parents; wife, Cassi Olivares;  two daughters, Abigale  Olivares, Alyssa Olivares; son, Issac Sandoval; one brother, Nico Olivares; one sister, Lori Olivares; four nephews, Sergio Lechuga, Julius Lechuga, Noe Lechuga, Zaydyn Anderson, in-laws, and tons of extended family and friends.

The memories how do you condense so many smiles, so much laughter into mere words?Seeing the man he became versus the boy whose diaper I changed. He never let sadness invade his world or those in it.I will cherish the memories of 3 little boys and one little sister that could give you gray hair. Will always laugh about the 4th of July fire that got started behind the airport. Adults running around trying to put it out and kids thinking it was just so funny that all they could do was want it bigger! The b-b-ques and watching them play with never a thought of nothing but sunshine and laughter ahead.Gabe will always be smiling in our hearts.

I never saw Gabe or met him but a brother in Christ he is. Im assuming he was born and bread in Temple as I was. We both wore the Wildcat uniform, mine was the class of 65. As a kid Gabe probably played in that black rich soil as I once did. He enjoyed the sound of the Temple band fight song. His dad, my Marine Corps brother. Comfort be with you and your children.
