Aubrey Clinton Whiddon Jr., affectionately known as “Bunky,” passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Heritage House Nursing Center in Rosebud, Texas, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on September 28, 1949, in Conroe, Texas, Aubrey lived a life marked by devotion—to his family, his faith, and his community.

A graduate of Cleveland High School, Aubrey honored his country by enlisting in the Army, where he served proudly as a Missile Technician. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to the family enterprise, Whiddon Construction Company, contributing his craftsmanship and creativity until his retirement. His passion for woodworking extended beyond the business; he joyfully transformed scrap wood into beautiful furniture, sharing his artistry with those around him.

A deeply spiritual man, Aubrey was a devout reader of his Bible and spent considerable time nurturing his faith at church. His commitment went beyond attendance; he used his gifts and talents to support the church’s needs and took great care in teaching Bible studies. Those who knew him respected his steady faith and the example of courage and trust in God. His interests reflected a love for nature and creativity. Aubrey enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, fishing, and was a phenomenal artist known for his evocative drawings of landscapes and animals. These pursuits enriched his life and were a source of happiness and peace.

Aubrey was also a proud grandfather to Dalton Lindemood, Alex Foster, Trent Foster, and a beloved granddaughter, Abigail Gawryszewski, and her husband Connor. He cherished his five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including a very special friend, Charlotte Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Pamela Jackson Whiddon (3 years) and Patricia Shipp Whiddon (43 years); his step-son James Jason Lindemood; and his sister Elizabeth Johnson.
