Charles Adolfo Putzeys, a dedicated family man known affectionately as "Pipaw", and community servant, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on April 29, 1954, in Central America, Charles exemplified a life rich in love, service, and unwavering faith. He has honorably donated his body to science to advance medical science. His cremated remains will be reunited with his family and a Celebration of Life will be held in the future. 

An entrepreneur at heart, he devoted his career to enhancing his community through his skills in building and remodeling homes. His meticulous work and passion for both inside and outside repairs were evident in every project he undertook, earning him the respect and admiration of those who had the pleasure to know him.

Charles was a proud graduate of Alhambra High School where he played baseball, soccer, and wrestling. 

In April of 1974 he enlisted into the United States Army in Los Angeles, California. He was a Supply Specialist and was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.  While during his service he received the National Defense Service Medal. 

He met the love of his life while in Guatemala.  They married meanwhile moved to California where they started their family  He furthered his education at San Bernardino Valley College where he obtained an associates degree in Computer Technology. Yet, he was a lifelong learner, continually evolving and adapting to the times. This insatiable thirst for knowledge extended to his role as a grandfather, where he engaged with his grandchildren during their homeschooling sessions, helping them understand their learning materials. He believed in the power of education and took great joy in watching their growth.

His contributions extended beyond his professional life; he was deeply committed to serving others, particularly through his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous. Charles had a big heart, always ready to help those in need, whether it was providing clothing, food, or shelter to families in transition. His compassionate spirit was fueled by his strong Christian faith, as he sought to share the teachings of the Bible and nourish others with biblical literature and scriptures.

Known for his charm, humor, and love for food, Charles brought people together with his culinary skills, often gathering family for barbecues where his famous potato salad was a highlight. He was also an avid reader with a keen interest in politics and history, and he found joy in spending time with his dogs, Banjo and Ladybug who were his cherished companions.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Luvia Adelle (Morales) Putzeys, with whom he shared a deep, abiding love. He leaves behind three devoted sons: Anthony (Tatiana) Putzeys, Joshua Putzeys, and Fred (Lauren) Putzeys, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and leadership. His six grandchildren—Abraham, Ariana, Amelia, Kenneth, Samuel, and Nora—were a source of immense pride and joy in his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Charles is remembered by his two sisters, Haydy Trevino and Vera Putzeys, as a fierce leader and a source of constant support.

 He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. Carlos Putzeys and Haydee (Bolanos) Putzeys, and one sister, Lorena Putzeys.

He was was diagnosed with Stage Four Lung Cancer in April 2024, Charles faced his final challenge with grace and faith, finding comfort in his belief in the eternal loving embrace of his Holy Father. His indomitable spirit, dedication to family, and lifelong service to others will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. Charles Adolfo Putzeys was not just a man; he was a mentor, a friend, and a guiding light to many. His legacy of love and service will endure in the lives he touched.
