Chester Olevri Rodriguez, a devoted husband, father, brother, and esteemed engineer, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Temple, Texas. Born on April 13, 1957, Chester's life was marked by dedication, resilience, and a generous spirit that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Chester was a proud graduate of Central Texas University, where he earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering. His passion for service was evident in both his professional and personal life; he served in the United States Army for 21 years, demonstrating unwavering commitment and discipline. Following his military career, Chester applied his engineering expertise working for the government, notably as an engineer for the Veterans Affairs. His career later took him to the China Embassy, a chapter in which he found love and companionship with his wife, Linlin Wang.
Characterized by a good heart and a quick wit, Chester was known as a joker among friends and family, always ready to bring a smile to those around him. His interests included working on cars, swimming, and cherishing time spent with friends and family—activities that highlighted his vibrant and active nature.
In 2014, Chester was diagnosed with cancer, a battle he faced with courage and determination until his passing. Despite the challenges of his illness, he remained a steadfast presence to his loved ones.
Chester is survived by his devoted wife, Linlin Wang; his three beloved children, Eddy, Enrique, and Mindy Rodriguez; and his cherished grandchild, Kinsley Lambert. He is also remembered fondly by his brother Danny Rodriguez and his two sisters, Wilda and Noreen Rodriguez. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, as well as two brothers, Jerry and Larry Rodriguez, and one sister, Nancy Rodriguez.
His passing is deeply mourned by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Chester Olevri Rodriguez’s legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will continue to inspire and comfort those who carry his memory in their hearts.
