Farewell Services for Conn J. Tatum, 81, of Davilla, will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3909 Ermine Trail Temple, Texas 76504 on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 am Burial will follow in procession to Lilac Cemetery outside of Davilla, TX (FM 487 & FM 3061 Thorndale, TX)

Conn J Tatum of Davilla, Texas died at his home with family on Thursday, Sept 22, 2022. 

Conn J was born in Bryan, Texas on July 2, 1941 to Helen Mamie Conn Tatum and John Jackson Tatum. He married the love of his life, Barbara Gail “Inkey” Gatlin Tatum on Mar 30, 1960. When they ran away together, she 15 and he 17, and eloped, it was complete with a police chase down back country roads! One year later they welcomed their first of seven children and helped raise a slew of others. Conn J’s pride and joy was his wife and family, he was a dedicated Christian and was very politically active, including hosting a conservative radio talk show, ‘Common Sense with Conn’ on Saturday mornings on KTEM.

Conn J is survived by his loving, dedicated wife of 62 years, their seven children,  twenty-two grandchildren and an ever-growing number of great-grand-children, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by Parents: John Jackson Tatum (Myrtle Tatum) and Helen Mamie Conn Brumbelow (Ambris Brumbelow); one Brother,  Via Wayne Tatum (Virginia Tatum); Sister, Johnnie Mae Tatum Luckey (Louis Joseph Hagaman)

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the church. 

Arrangements are in the care of Sabrina N. Young with Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center in Temple.
