Darla Jo Patterson

Darla Jo Patterson, aged 67, passed away on October 19, 2023, at a local hospital in Waco, Texas. She was born on December 26, 1955, in Pasadena, Texas. Darla is survived by her sister Donna Melching and her husband Billy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. James H. Patterson and Jonell (Choate) Patterson.

Darla's academic journey led her to graduate from Willis High School in 1974. Following her education, she embarked on a diverse professional path. She began her career as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell before transitioning into fast food management. Finally, she dedicated her skills as a secretary for a Chemical Plant.

In reflection of Darla's nature and disposition, those who knew her remarked that she had a dry sense of humor and rarely displayed emotion due to her diagnosis of schizophrenia. Despite this condition and living an estranged and private life, she made an impact and touched the lives of those around her.

As we bid farewell to Darla Jo Patterson, let us remember the moments shared with her and the impact she made during her time with us. Her memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her as a colleague, friend, and family member. May she rest in eternal peace. Her body has been donated to science.
