Ella Pearl Mills

Ella Pearl Mills passed away peacefully at her home in Belton, Texas, on Friday, September 18, 2026, just days before her 80th birthday. She was born on October 1, 1946, in Corsicana, Texas.

Ella was a graduate of Belton High School and continued her education at Temple Junior College. She became a proud mother to her son, David Stewart, and later met and married the love of her life, Matt Mills. Together they blended their family and shared 42 years of marriage.

She was a homemaker and devoted mother who gave her wholehearted support to her son, his baseball teams, and his goals in life. She was also a devoted wife who faithfully supported her husband throughout his career. Ella brought warmth and dedication to her home and family, and those who knew her understood how deeply she cared for the people she loved.

Known by the nickname “Lil Bit” because of her small stature, Ella was truly larger than life. Before Alzheimer’s changed the course of her life, she was adventurous and full of energy, enjoying camping, fishing, and dancing. She had a fun, vibrant personality that left a lasting impression. She also took special joy in collecting angel figurines, which filled her home and could be found in nearly every room, reflecting both her spirit and the comfort she created around her.

Ella was preceded in death by her father, Belton Stewart; her mother, Lena Crawford; and her sister, Francis Whiteknight.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Matt Mills, and by her son, David Stewart, and his wife, Rena and her two beloved dogs, Midnight and Snoopy. Her family was the center of her life, and she will be remembered with love for her devotion, her lively spirit, and the steady encouragement she gave to those closest to her. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m. at Young’s Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center, 4235 E. US Hwy 190, Temple, TX 76501 with Rev. Wayne Ziegler.
