Services for Ellis Wayne Hagerty, 52, of Temple, are pending with Young's Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center.

Ellis Wayne Hagerty died on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Ellis "Wayne" Hagerty was born in Littlefield, Texas raised in California. He played basketball and enjoyed skateboarding.  He moved back to Texas at the age of 17 in the mid 1980's. He loved his family especially his nephews and nieces.  Hobbies included; fishing, catching Minos in Lake Brownwood, being outdoors especially being in Colorado up in the mountains. He crafted his own walking stick and was a "jack-of-all-trades". He loved remodeling cars and houses. Wayne was always helping people especially when it came to automotives. His favorite time was at the family reunions. He was a devout Dallas Cowboy fan. Everyone enjoyed his firecracker relationship with Aunt Beverly. You would have seen him in camo and a coat even in 100 degree weather. He had a great love for nature, soil and plants.

Preceded in death by his parents; Mother Shirley Williams, Father Ellis Hagerty and step-father John Landsford;

Survivors include his two sisters, Rose Ward and husband Joe; Misty Williams; one brother, Billy John Lansford, one niece, Ruthie Williams; Jon Paul, Robert, Dustin, Tommy, Cody, Travis; and six great nieces.

Arrangements are in the care of Young's Daughters Funeral Home.
