Eppie Yanez

August 16, 1933 — November 17, 2023

Eppie Yanez made his way to our heavenly father peacefully on November 17th, 2023 in his
house in Temple, Texas. He was born on August 16th, 1933 in Rosebud, Texas to Mr. Margarito
and Virginia Yanez both from Monterrey, Mexico.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple, Texas at 9 A.M. on  Saturday,  November 25, 2023 with Fr. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow to Temple Garden Of Memories Cemetery.

He met the love of his life, Susie Guerrero and married on September 31st 1951 in Cameron, Texas. Eppie and Susie started a family and have four children. They reside here in Temple since 1960, are members of Our Lady of
Guadalupe Church, and are very active in the church community. He was a member of Knights
of Columbus. As a young man he started working on a farm in his hometown. When he came to
Temple he started working for O.O. Berryhill Construction, and later Psencik Construction
Company. In June 1971 he started his own Yanez Construction company with his brother John
and was in business for 47 years He specialized in water lines, sewer lines, septic systems and
backhoe work. He would go anywhere he was needed, loved the outdoors, and was a hard
worker. He loved having his family and friends around. And he loved to dance and did so
beautifully with his wife. He would give his shirt off his back for anyone. He was a very honest
man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Matilda Yanez, grandson Paul Ray
Yanez Sr. and great granddaughter Madison Gandara-Harper. Also his sisters Bentura Gayton,
Eusebia Pacina, Luisa Vera Cruz, Dominga Castillo, Katalina Ybarra, Josephina Rodriguez, and
his brothers Juan, Francisco, Cruz and Lucio Yanez.
Eppie is survived by his wife Susie and his daughters Mary Ann Rodriguez, Dora Gandara and
his son Margarito Rodriquez (and his wife Cynthia). Also, his sisters Nina Gamboa and
Mercelina Baca, 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. He was truly loved
and will be truly missed.

A Vigil service will be commencing at 5 P.M. at Young's Daughters Funeral Home in Temple on Friday, November 24, 2023. Rosary to begin at 6 P.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sabrina N. Young at Young's Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center.
