Gianna “Gigi” Rose Cordero
June 25, 2010 – August 10, 2025
Gianna Rose Cordero, lovingly known as “Gigi,” was born on June 25, 2010, in Temple, Texas, to Gonsalo Cordero III and Tonya Cordero. On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at just 15 years old, Gigi’s journey on this earth came to a close far too soon. Though her time was brief, her impact was immeasurable, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who love her.
Gigi had just begun a new chapter at Academy High School, where she embraced every opportunity with determination and spirit. Whether lifting with strength on the powerlifting team or showing discipline and dedication through ROTC, she gave her whole heart to the things she loved. Beyond her accomplishments, Gigi was known for her sass, her quick wit, and her fierce loyalty. She was the kind of friend who stood beside you no matter what — truly a “girl’s girl” in every way.
She lived with a spark in her eyes, a laugh that could brighten the heaviest days, and a heart that overflowed with love for her family and friends. To know Gigi was to be touched by her vibrant spirit — strong, beautiful, unforgettable.
She is survived by her parents, Gonsalo and Tonya Cordero; her siblings, Jameela Cordero and Gonsalo Cordero IV; her aunts, Amber Perfetti, Shawna Pearson, Anastasia Cordero, Miranda Rodriguez, Lois Rodriguez, Erica David, and Shalonda Johnson; her uncle Jeremy; her aunt and uncle, Jessica and Adrian Aragon; and her cousins, Adrieana Lusk, Kailynn Pearson, Karson Cox, Briana Leschuck, Alyssia Díaz, Kason Wilson, and Kai Rodriguez. She is also cherished by her grandparents, along with countless extended family members and friends who will carry her memory always.
A celebration of Gigi’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Young’s Daughters Funeral Home. This gathering will be filled with love, stories, and memories — a time to honor the way she lived, the lessons she taught, and the joy she gave so freely. Family and friends are invited to share their moments with Gigi, so that together her light continues to shine brightly.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Gigi’s spirit soars free — like a butterfly taking flight, leaving beauty in her wake. She will forever be our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She will forever be our angel.
If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever… Rest in paradise, babygirl.
