Jilian Elizabeth Gonzalez Leyva,
Jilian Elizabeth Gonzalez Leyva, lovingly known as "Mom," was born on August 28, 1977, in Long Island, NY to Peter Joseph Gonzalez and Ruth Ellen (Vogel) Gonzalez. . She passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at a local hospital in Temple, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and devotion.
Jilian embraced life with a remarkable spirit, always embodying love, care, and support for her family and friends. A proud mother, she dedicated herself to raising her children, often attending their functions and actively participating in their lives. Her love for her family was matched only by her commitment to her career. Jilian concluded her professional journey as the Environmental Service Manager at Crothal Hospital, a position that allowed her to blend her passionate nature with her professional skills.
An accomplished individual, Jilian graduated from Los Fresnos High School where she was involved in the Future Farmers of America and played high school tennis. Her educational journey continued at the University of Texas River Grande Valley, where she not only advanced her studies but also found the love of her life, Arturo Leyva. Together, they shared countless memories, often walking along the beach and exploring new horizons. She later completed her degree at Everest College, adding to the pride she felt for her personal achievements.
Jilian's personality reflected her nurturing heart and steadfast spirit. She held a firm belief in giving her all and doing her best, a motto that resonated throughout her life. Her kindness was felt by many; she often opened her home, lovingly hosting events for her children and their friends. Jilian was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking and walking, always accompanied by her beloved dogs, "Annabella," her emotional support companion, and "Zahavah," her Service Companion.
She took great pride in her children, frequently showcasing picture books filled with their accomplishments and cherished moments. Her enduring spirit and gentle demeanor had a lasting impact on those who knew her. Jilian is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Arturo Leyva; her three children, Matthew, Nathaniel, and Alyssa Leyva; as well as her cherished retired emotional support companion Annabella, and her service companion Zahavah.
Jilian is preceded in death by her parents, Peter Joseph Gonzalez and Ruth Ellen (Vogel) Gonzalez. Her immense capacity for love and unyielding support touched countless lives, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held before the service on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm and Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 pm with Pastor Ryan Pennington officiating at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center 4235 E. US Hwy 190, Temple, TX 76501.
