Cameron

Judith Ann Dewees, 89,  affectionately known as Judi, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Temple, Texas. She was born on August 18, 1934, in Springfield, Missouri, to her loving parents Mr. Joseph Cecil Crawford and Mary (Peck) Crawford.

Judith led a remarkable life filled with love, creativity, and dedication. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1952 and pursued her passion in visual merchandising and interior design. For 23 years, she dedicated her talents to Dillard's Department Stores in San Antonio and Fort Worth before retiring to Mount Vernon in 1998 to reconnect with her childhood and lifelong friends, then in 2024, moving to Cameron to live with her daughter in Texas.

One of Judith's proudest accomplishments was her family. She married USAF Sergeant James Foreman in 1955 and together they had three children. Although the marriage dissolved she found happiness again when she met and married Bert Dewees in Fort Worth. The couple enjoyed dancing, playing pool, and watching their favorite shows together.

In her spare time, Judith immersed herself in various hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She had a green thumb and created the most beautiful yard through her love for gardening. Her passion for lions was evident in the way she decorated her home. Judith was also an active member of Christian groups in Mt. Vernon and volunteered at a Christian thrift store. Her creative spirit shone through her sewing projects, paintings, and artistic endeavors.

People were drawn to Judith's charismatic personality. She was beloved by many for her no-nonsense attitude blended with genuine care for her family and friends. As a Leo, she embodied the traits of loyalty, creativity, and strength throughout her life.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Lacinda (Donald) Foreman-Ashcraft; one son, Bret (Dianne) Foreman; son-in-Law, Robert Yarbrough; one step son, Clay (Pam) Dewees; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband Jim Foreman; husband Bert Dewees; son Bart Foreman; and granddaughter, Abigail Dewees.

A viewing service to celebrate Judith's life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center in Temple, Texas. Her legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
