Kelli Marie Starbuck, affectionately known as "Red," passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 54. Born on May 13, 1970, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to James E. Starbuck and Teresa D. (Johnson) Starbuck. Kelli was a vibrant spirit whose life was characterized by her love for family, her community-oriented nature, and her artistic passions.
A Belton High School graduate, Kelli furthered her education by obtaining her Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a testament to her adventurous spirit and readiness to tackle life's challenges. She took on various odd jobs to provide for her family. Known for her generosity and kindness, Kelli became a beloved figure in her community, offering tree services, cooking for Bill's Grill, and providing cleaning services at Denim and Diamonds. Additionally, her CDL allowed her to contribute to VA transportation, showcasing her commitment to serving others.
Kelli was a proud mother, blessed with two daughters. Her first daughter was born in 1997, followed by another in 2007. The bond she created with her daughters was marked by joyous moments spent together, including delightful picnics by clear waters, where laughter and love were the main ingredients for their cherished memories.
Her personality was enchanting and full of life; Kelli was often described as goofy, loving, and generous. With her high-spirited demeanor, she embraced her nickname, "Red," which reflected her fiery hair and vibrant personality. Much like her mother, Teresa Diane Johnson, whom she is preceded in death by, Kelli possessed a servant's heart, always eager to lend a helping hand. She had an endless curiosity and a knack for being a busy body, continuously finding ways to enrich the lives of those around her.
Kelli brought charm and warmth to every room she entered. Her hobbies included baking, which she loved to share with others, and her appreciation for Bluebonnets was evident as she would often pull over just to admire their beauty. An artist at heart, she expressed her creativity through drawing and painting, customizing her belongings, and collecting old antiques and trinkets. Her spirit bore a resemblance to that of the Little Mermaid, deeply connected to the wonders of nature and life.
She is survived by her father, James E. Starbuck; her two daughters, Amber Marie Petersen and Chantel Marie Wofford; and her two brothers, Christopher Lynn Starbuck and Bobby Joe Starbuck. Kelli will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
