Services for Lori Sue Burton, 62, of Temple, are going to be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in the Kaverly Chapel at Young's Daughters Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 2:00 pm with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm.  Her body will be cremated with inurnment with her cremated remains to be returned to the family.
 
 
Lori Sue Burton died on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in Temple, Tx.
 
 
Lori Sue Burton was born on July 23, 1960 to Delores June Wright and William Cornelius Durkee in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  At the age of 17 she moved to Las Vegas working in various fast food chains. At the age of 18 she began working as a cashier at the casino where she met the love of her life Davis Burton in 1977. In 1995 they married and together they raised their family. She became a proud mother in 1989 and again in 1990 to their children (Christina Marie Burton and David Michael Henderson) In 1991 they moved to Temple, Texas. Lori was an artist in many ways and enjoyed painting stained glass and especially loved to color in her coloring books.  Mrs. Burton was a Christian by faith and showed with her love of gospel music. Her favorite song was amazing grace. She worked at Pizza Hut and the Hamburger Shack in Temple till she was no longer able to work. She loved to bake; pumpkin pies, cakes and peanut butter cookies to go along with her coffee while listening to her music. Her love of Angels could be displayed throughout the house. As a mother and wife she kept a very clean home filled with loving memories and filled the home with her happy personality. She was a member and a usher of the Chosen Generation Ministry of Temple.  
 
Survivors include her husband, Davis Burton; two sons, Charlie Durkee, David Henderson; one daughter, Christina Marie Burton; one brother, Tim Durkee (Donna) three sisters, Teri Abercrombie (James) Brenda Bartgis, Tammy Horton (Ron) host of neices, nephews and friends.
 
Lori is preceded in death by her parents; Delores Wright and William Durkee; and brothers, Richard and Kenneth Durkee (Helen),sister Paula Kyle

Arrangements are under the direction of Sabrina N. Young of Young's Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center.
