In Loving Memory of Lorie Jenee Hopper

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorie Jenee Hopper on July 3, 2026. Though our hearts are broken, we celebrate a life filled with quiet kindness, unwavering love, and countless simple moments that will forever be treasured.

Born on May 18, 1969, Lorie lived a life defined not by seeking attention, but by the love she freely gave to those around her. She had a gentle spirit, a compassionate heart, and a quiet strength that made others feel safe and cared for.

Lorie dedicated more than twenty years of her career to A&G Transportation, where she became known for her dependability, kindness, and strong work ethic. She took great pride in her work and formed meaningful friendships along the way. During her later years, she worked primarily from home, but she always looked forward to the days she went into the office—especially when one of her dear friends would surprise her with breakfast tacos. Those thoughtful gestures meant so much to her. And if you knew Lorie, you knew there was almost always a cup of coffee within reach. She could happily drink coffee all day long.

Outside of work, Lorie found joy in life’s quieter moments. She loved being at home, where she could relax with a good documentary or settle in for the latest true crime series. She wasn’t someone who enjoyed being the center of attention or spending lots of time in large social settings. Home was where she found peace.

Her love for animals was one of the many things that made her so special. Whether caring for her own pets, which even included monkeys at one point or visiting local animal shelters, her heart was always drawn to animals in need. One of her favorite traditions was spending lunch breaks with her friend visiting animal shelters just to look at the dogs and cats. They became such familiar faces that the shelter staff jokingly assumed they must be a couple. It was one of those simple traditions that always brought her happiness.

Above all, Lorie loved her children. Like many families, they experienced seasons of joy, challenges, and hardships along life’s journey, but her love for them never wavered. They remained an important part of her heart, and she was proud to be their mother.

Lorie will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet compassion, unwavering loyalty, and the way she made others feel loved simply by being herself. She never needed recognition or praise to make a difference. Her kindness spoke for itself, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched through her love, generosity, and caring spirit.

Lorie is survived by her daughter, Brittany Michelle Farar and husband, Charles Farar; her sons, Brian Michael Hopper and Blake Edward Hopper; her brother, Stephen Hulen Ford, Jr.; her stepsisters, Teresa McLoud Siegfried, Stacy Blackwell, and Tracy McLoud along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Druane Holton McLoud; her stepfather, Jerry Denvil McLoud; her father, Losson Cook Rogers III; and her beloved grandparents, Margaret Russel and Ken Russel.

Although we will miss her more than words can express, we find comfort in knowing that her love remains with us. In every rescued animal, every cup of coffee, every documentary or true crime show enjoyed from the comfort of home, and every cherished family memory, we will see pieces of Lorie. Her love was quiet but powerful, and it will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
