Michael Emil Driska, born on October 20, 1959, in Temple, Texas, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 10, 2025. He is remembered as a beloved figure in his community and by his family for his exuberant spirit, passion for life, and dedication to those he loved.

Michael dedicated many years of his life to a commendable career. After graduating from Temple High School, he began working at Scott and White Hospital, where he served as a cook for two decades. Following this, he transitioned to Pactiv/Reynolds, where he worked as a laborer in the packaging and shipping department until his retirement. His work ethic and commitment to excellence served as an inspiration to those around him.

Michael was known for his love of family time, which was paramount to his happiness. He possessed a profound enthusiasm for motorsports, particularly enjoying stock car races, local monster truck events, and car shows. His passion extended to tractor pull parades. Michael had a special fondness for his Pontiac Firebird and embraced the lifestyle of a Jeep owner, reflecting his spirited personality. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, and delighted in collecting baseball caps and sporting fashionable attire.

In his personal life, Michael was characterized by his independence and warmth. He was a friendly neighbor, often described as a social butterfly who cherished friendships within his apartment community. Michael's lively interactions and engaging conversations will be missed by beloved siblings who visited.

He is survived by his two brothers, Robert (Naomi) Smith and Charles (Susan) Tallman; and three sisters, Carrie Tucker and husband Garey, Rose Wiley, and Doris Lane. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will deeply miss his presence. Michael's legacy will be especially felt in the hearts of his family, who valued his strong character and steadfast spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albin Emil Driska and Carrie Jean (Zaleski) Driska, who laid the foundation for his remarkable life.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center located at 4235 E. US Hwy 190, Temple, TX. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Dyess Grove Cemetery at 12:30 PM.

Michael Emil Driska's life was one of joy, independence, and love. He will be cherished in memory, forever a part of the lives he enriched.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sabrina Young at Young's Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center in Temple, Texas.
