Oscar Lamas, affectionately known as "Papuch," to his wife passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on November 18, 1960, in Magdalena, Jalisco, Mexico, Oscar led a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering love for his family.

Oscar devoted 38 years of his professional life to serving as a warehouse manager with Individual Group. A role through which he demonstrated remarkable commitment and work ethic until his retirement. Beyond his career, he was a man of rich personality, known for his stubborn yet thoughtful nature, a sharp wit, and a sarcastic sense of humor that endeared him to many.

A devoted family man, Oscar’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a passionate attendee of his children’s youth games and treasured moments dancing and singing his favorite songs with loved ones. Cooking was one of his cherished hobbies, through which he expressed his affection by bringing family and friends together around the table. He was also an avid fan of the Rams and found enjoyment in visiting casinos, embracing life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm.

Oscar's proudest moment was finding the love of his life at a concert in 1980—his beloved wife, Julia G. Lamas—with whom he shared 44 years of marriage filled with steadfast devotion and cherished memories.

He is lovingly survived by his mother, Victorina Torrez; his wife Julia; his two sons, Oscar Lamas, Ulysus and his wife Karina Lamas; his three daughters, Silvia Robledo and her husband Todd, Jessica Lamas, Jasmine and her husband Jack Rynhart; his five brothers, Juan, Jaime, Ulices, Carlos, and Christian Lamas; his four sisters, Gloria Vazquez, Lorena Valdez, Silvia Lamas, and Carmen Figueroa; along with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience.

Oscar was preceded in death by his father, Jose Lamas, whose memory he honored throughout his life.

Oscar Lamas will be remembered as a man of great personality and passion, who enriched the lives of all who knew him. His stories, full of warmth and soul, will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain a cherished part of the hearts he touched.
