In Loving Memory of Paula Brown

Paula Brown passed away in an accident in Moody, Texas, on October 3, 2025. A woman of deep compassion, faith, and an unforgettable spirit, Paula lived a full and meaningful life—one shaped by service, connection, and a true love for people.

Born in Levelland, Texas on October 18, 1951, to Pete and Wilma Peterson, Paula was proud of her West Texas roots. She graduated from Levelland High School in 1970 and continued her studies at South Plains College, earning her nursing degree in 1972. She began her career at Cook Memorial Hospital, where her kindness and patience were a blessing to countless patients and families.

Paula later moved to Temple, Texas, where she continued her calling in the medical field through administrative roles at both Scott & White and Kings Daughters Hospitals. Thoughtful and articulate, she was also a gifted communicator: her life’s work eventually wove in a career in public speaking, traveling across the country to encourage and uplift others. She also served as a morning co-host on a local radio station and became a beloved community ambassador for the City of Temple, always using her voice to connect and care for others.

In time, Paula returned to her beloved hometown of Levelland, where she lived and worked for five years before retiring to Moody, Texas. No matter where she lived, Paula carried West Texas hospitality with her—offering warmth, laughter, and fierce loyalty to the people she loved.

Of all her roles in life, none was more cherished than being a mother. Paula is survived by her daughter and greatest joy, Amanda Brown of Moody, Texas, who was truly the light of her life. She is also survived by a large circle of extended family and a lifetime of treasured friends—many of whom became family through love, not blood. Paula had the rare gift of making people feel seen, valued, and lifted up.

A celebration of life will be held at Young's Daughters Funeral Home, Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 A.M to 1 P.M.
