Paula Davis Rodriguez III, affectionately known as Pete, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas. Born on January 5, 1975, in Temple, Texas, Paula was a cherished daughter, mother, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit and caring nature touched the lives of many.
A proud graduate of Temple High School, Paula distinguished herself academically and artistically. She was honored in the Who's Who for all four years of her high school journey and was a talented clarinet player in the school band, achieving state recognition in her senior year. Her love of music and dedication to her craft reflected the depth of her talents and commitment.She furthered her education at the local Temple Junior College.
Throughout her career, Paula dedicated herself to caring for others. She began working with child day care centers in the area, where her nurturing disposition shone brightly. Later, she served as a counter clerk at 7-11 gas stations, demonstrating hard work and dedication in every role she undertook.
Paula’s personality was marked by a cheerful and lighthearted spirit. Known for her infectious sense of humor, she brought joy and laughter to family gatherings and social functions alike. Despite facing health challenges, Paula made every effort to be present at family holidays and events, valuing the time spent with those she loved. Her role as a devoted caregiver and supporter to her younger brother during their upbringing revealed a profound strength and selflessness that defined her character.
Her interests and hobbies were as diverse as her talents. Paula found joy in needlepoint and crafting, activities that showcased her creativity and patience. She also embraced the outdoors, enjoying rides on four-wheelers, and was enthusiastic about sports such as volleyball and dodgeball. A passionate fan, Paula cheered for the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Texas Longhorns, as well as delighting in the grace and excitement of the Skating Olympics.
Paula’s greatest pride was in her children. She loved them deeply and held a special place in her heart for her beloved baby girl, Natalie, who preceded her in death. Paula would have wished to be reunited with Natalie in the next life, a hope rooted in her faith and the love that defined her existence.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by her devoted parents, Eusebio M. Rodriguez and Paula D. Rodriquez; her two sons, Jonathon Joyce and his wife Lindsay Joyce, and Michael Salinas; her brother, Richard D. Rodriguez and his wife Isabel Salinas; her sister, Makayla McKissick and her husband Josh; and her treasured grandchildren, Lorelei Joyce and Julian Joyce.
Paula Davis Rodriguez III’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, humor, and unwavering family devotion. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. With God's grace, she has gone to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and comfort those who loved her.
