Rhonda Susan Jones,
Rhonda Susan Jones, affectionately known as "Gi Gi," passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 29, 2026, in Liberty Hill, Texas, under the care of her daughter. Born on June 5, 1950, in Miami, Arizona, Rhonda led a life marked by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to education and family.
Raised within the Church of Christ, Rhonda was a lifelong member of the Miami Church of Christ, a community that played a significant role throughout her life. She graduated from Miami Arizona High School before pursuing higher education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. There, she distinguished herself academically, proudly joining honor societies and sorority groups and earning her bachelor's degree in education. Her educational achievements laid the foundation for a meaningful career.
Professionally, Rhonda devoted herself to the betterment of educational standards by teaching underachieving school teachers how to elevate their instructional quality and effectiveness. Her passion for teaching and presenting was matched only by her love for traveling and spending cherished moments with her family.
In September of 1968, Rhonda married her high school sweetheart, Tom Jones, beginning a lifelong partnership anchored in love and mutual respect. Their union was blessed with two children: a daughter, Rashele Highbaugh, and a son, Clinton Jones. Rhonda was deeply proud of her family, finding joy in hosting holiday gatherings that brought loved ones together and cherishing annual visits to Massachusetts to witness the seasonal fall transitions.
Characterized by a gentle and tender heart, Rhonda stood as a perfect embodiment of unconditional love. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her, leaving a legacy defined by her compassion and dedication.
Rhonda is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Jones; her children, Rashele Highbaugh and Clinton Jones; her sister, Sharon Hurst; seven grandchildren—Cody Manry, Brighton Stewart, Cayden Manry, Jake Jones, Myrannda Jones, Kelby Thompson, and CJ Jones; and eight great-grandchildren—Weston Stewart, Kynleigh Stewart, Charlotte Jones, Lincoln Bradford, Beckham Bradford, Gracyn Bradford, Stetson Thompson, and Mabrie Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance McNutt and Ruth (Cook) McNutt.
Services to honor Rhonda’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, beginning with visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center, located at 4235 E. US Hwy 190 in Temple, Texas. Following visitation, a funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM and conclude at 2:00 PM at the same location. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery Association Inc., 107 Brown Bridge Rd, Liberty Hill, Texas, beginning at 3:30 PM.
Rhonda Susan Jones’s life was a testament to the power of education, faith, and family. Her legacy endures in the hearts of those she loved and those she inspired throughout her generous and impactful life.
