Rose Celia Lunde, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Belton, Texas, at the age of 92. Born on June 4, 1933, in the Village of Walton, New York, Rose was a vibrant spirit who filled the lives of those around her with joy and laughter.
While in her younger years she was baptized as a Lutheran in Osceola, Wisconsin, Rose graduated from high school and married Ruddy Lee Lunde. Together, they welcomed three children into the world: Rodney Lee Lunde, born in 1951, Robert Len Lunde in 1956, and their daughter, Rhonda, in 1958. As a military wife, she supported her family with grace while balancing her roles as a devoted mother and conscientious homemaker.
In 1988, Rose embarked on an entrepreneurial journey when she bought and operated the Barrel Inn, a local beer joint, until 1994. Known for her bubbly and outgoing personality, she formed strong connections with her patrons, treating them like family. Rose's vibrant spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was a woman of many interests, enjoying dancing to Western music, camping, and spending time at the lake. She possessed a servant's heart, always going out of her way to do for others and ensuring that every situation was met with a positive outlook.
After the passing of her husband she married a lifetime friend, Walter Greeson where together they have spent the rest of their lives together.
Rose leaves behind a legacy of love and togetherness. She is survived by her two sons, Rodney Lee Lunde and Robert Len Lunde and his wife, Jessica; her daughter, Rhonda Copeland and her husband, Lonnie; one brother, Harry Peterson and his wife, Sally; one sister, Shirley Lubinsky and her husband, John; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Rose was most proud of her family, cherishing every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Peterson and Eleanor (Greenburg) Peterson; her first husband, Ruddy Lee Lunde; three brothers, Jim, Edward, and George Peterson; and one sister, Dorothy Adams.
Rose's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and family. Her enduring spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
