With heartfelt sadness and great love, the Dees family shares the passing of their cherished companion, Whiskey Myers Dees, affectionately known as “Whiskers” who left this world on July 2, 2026, in Belton, Texas. Whiskey’s journey began in Troy, Texas a place he would call both his first and final home, a fitting circle for a life so bound to those who loved him most.

Whiskey Myers Dees was more than just a beloved family cat; he was a gentle presence, a steadfast friend, and a precious source of comfort and joy for all who shared in his days. His story with the Dees family started in 2018 on one unforgettable evening — the family will never forget the moment he walked up to their porch, as if by destiny, forever capturing their hearts and cementing his place within their home. From that first day, there was simply no turning back: Whiskey belonged with them, and they belonged to him.

He is deeply mourned and remembered by his father Matt Dees, mother Nicole Dees, sister Carter Dees and brother Robert Dees, and his loyal pet sibling Harley, a Catahoula dog who could often be found curled up beside him, sharing the quiet warmth of companionship. Each of them carries a unique collection of memories shaped by Whiskey’s gentle spirit and unwavering affection.

Anyone who knew Whiskey knows how integral he was to family life. Always preferring togetherness over toys, he was happiest when joining in on family activities, curling up in soft cozy blankets, or strolling on leash walks that turned simple moments into memories. The strong bond he shared with his family radiated in every interaction but shone brightest with his Sister Carter. Whether it was watching Bluey together, cuddling on the couch or letting Carter dress him up in baby doll clothes and settle him into a toy baby doll stroller or toy car seats, Whiskey’s patience and devotion were endless. No protest ever came from him — his calm, loving temperament meant that as long as he was by Carter’s side, all was well in his world.

There are no stories of hisses or scratches; instead, only tales of sunbathing in warm sunlight, gentle cuddles, and an easy-going nature that endeared him to everyone he met. He loved tuna, reveled in soft blankets, and, in endearing displays of mischief, sometimes delighted in sneaking a drink from the toilet. And, always, he was wherever Carter could be found — a true reflection of their inseparable friendship and bond they shared for one another.

Through his affectionate, laid-back temperament, Whiskey made a profound mark on all who had the joy of knowing him. Even those who met him only briefly found it impossible not to fall under his spell. That is his legacy: the imprint of warmth, steadfastness, and much-needed comfort through the seasons of family life.

Whiskey’s last moments were spent cradled in Carter’s arms, at peace, wrapped in the love he never took for granted and always returned a hundredfold. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever linger in the sunny spots of the home and in the hearts of all his family.

As the Dees family moves forward, they do so with deep gratitude for the blessing it was to love and be loved by Whiskey Myers Dees, their beloved friend, sibling, and companion.
