With profound sadness and tender hearts, we announce the passing of Wisdom Lanee Yvette Williams, lovingly known as "Wiz the Wiz" and "Wizzy" by her cousins. Born on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Temple, Texas, Wisdom graced this world for a brief but deeply meaningful time before peacefully departing on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Houston Children's Hospital after a courageous 100-day battle.
From the moment her mother discovered she was expecting in June of 2025, a journey filled with hope and love began. Though faced with the daunting diagnosis of Trisomy 13 early on, Wisdom's spirit shone brightly against all odds. Her mother first sensed something unusual when familiar tastes of her potatoes faded, and cravings for fried pickles, French fries, and raw tomatoes took hold—little signs of the miracle growing within. Through ultrasounds and countless moments of anticipation, families and friends gathered in joy, celebrating Wisdom’s life with a reveal party and a heartwarming butterfly baby shower adorned in her chosen colors of purple and gold.
Wisdom was a remarkable little soul—a fighter imbued with resilience and warmth. Her mother affectionately called her "Mandric," reminiscent of a beloved character from Harry Potter. Always hungry, whether from the chill or heat, dry or wet, Wisdom found comfort in nighttime baths that soothed her tender spirit to sleep. While her mother often kept busy with puzzles and watching "Little Bear" to pass the time, Wisdom was a nighttime companion, her small presence keeping her mother awake and close.
Though her time on earth was brief, Wisdom’s impact was profound. She surpassed every expected milestone, defying the odds and embracing every cherished moment surrounded by love. She was deeply loved and lovingly supported by gifts and presence from relatives near and far.
Wisdom is survived by her devoted parents, Lanee Dorsey and Ryan Williams; her adoring grandparents, Wendell Dorsey and Victoria Dobson; two aunts, Latasi and Rachel Dorsey; one uncle, Wendell Dorsey Jr.; and numerous Kirksey and Dorsey cousins who treasured her presence.
In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Temple.
A special thank you to The Ronald McDonalds Houses for their outstanding care and devotion to the family during this difficult time.
A celebration of Wisdom’s life will be held on July 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center, located at 4235 E. US Hwy 190, Temple, Texas. Though her star was little, the light she brought into the lives of her family and friends was immeasurable.
In her short time, Wisdom embodied a strength and tenderness that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her. She remains a precious butterfly, forever soaring in the memories and love she leaves behind.
